Paul PATTERSON Obituary

PAUL PATTERSON
November 29, 1931 - November 11, 2018 Paul Roden Atherley Patterson had an outstanding career in the graphic arts business in Toronto. His creative genius carried over to his sense of style, and how he was always perfectly turned out. Paul was born in Port Credit, just to the west of Toronto and grew up on Glen Road in Rosedale. He started work as an apprentice in the graphic arts business and became a master, designing everything from ads to annual reports. Paul was generous and great company, with a tremendous sense of humour and love of life. He loved animals, his beloved cat Glenda and his horse Mad Margaret. Paul is survived by his brother, Neil (and wife Ippy); his wife, Mollie; and his children, Kathy, Carol and Susan; as well as his longtime friend and colleague, Pamela Lypka. The family is grateful for the outstanding care Paul received in his last years from the loving staff and caregivers at Kensington Gardens.

I worked for Paul for 5 years and learned the most from him than anyone else. Not just about work but how to treat people. The classiest person I had ever met. I will always remember this man. A wonderful person.

I FIRST MET MY DAD'S BUSINESS PARTNER PAUL WHEN I JOINED GLEN GRAPHICS IN 1976. I HAD NEVER MET SUCH A BRILLIANTLY CREATIVE INDIVIDUAL. hE WAS ALWAYS DRESSED TO THE NINES AND I DON'T EVER REMEMBER SEEING HIM IN ANYTHING LESS THAN DESIGNER CLOTHES. (I THINK THAT EVEN HIS JEANS WERE CUSTOM TAILORED). PAUL WAS WITTY AND HAD AN INCREDIBLE SENSE OF HUMOUR. HIS FAMOUS ONE-LINERS COULD ALWAYS BRING A CHUCKLE. HE WAS A LADY'S MAN AND TREATED EVERY WOMAN WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT. MY LATE WIFE USED TO QUIOP THAT "PAUL COULD MAKE HER FEEL LIKE THE ONLY WOMAN IN THE ROOM". I REGRET NOT HAVING SEEN HIM FOR MANY YEARS BUT MY FOND MEMORIES OF THIS GREAT MAN WILL BE WITH ME FOREVER. R.I.P. PAUL. GOD BLESS.
