PAUL ROBERTS Obituary

November 1, 1942 - November 25, 2024 Paul was born in Toronto to loving parents, Edna and Alan, and enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in the city he would call home for most of his life. He graduated from U of T in 1964 with a degree in Economics and went on to become a CA. Paul married Sue (nee Grahame) in 1971, and together they raised two children, Sally and Grahame, in idyllic Leaside. Life was great for the Roberts family with everything that Leaside had to offer and many friends from the neighbourhood remain close to this day. Summer vacations and winter weekends were spent up north in the Thornbury area, taking advantage of beautiful Georgian Bay and the surrounding geography. Whether swimming in the lake (only warm late August for Paul), golfing, skiing at Georgian Peaks or simply puttering around, life was good. For the majority of his career, Paul worked at Parmalat Canada in Toronto, retiring after 30 years in December 2007 as Director of Risk Management and Corporate Secretary. Paul and Sue moved to Thornbury full-time in retirement and made many close friends. While Sue was more outgoing, Paul was always the calm and rational rock. A truly no-nonsense guy who appreciated the simple things in life; spending time with family and friends, travelling, walking the family dogs Sophie, Molly and Zoe, playing hockey, working out and reading. Paul was predeceased by Sue, after celebrating 52 years of marriage, in 2023. He will be dearly missed by his children, Sally (Andrew) and Grahame (Jill); and by his grandchildren, Everley and Sadie Roberts, and Will Foote. The fresh air off Georgian Bay will always remind his remaining family members how lucky they are to have had such an amazing Dad and Grampy. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in early spring.

Paul was an amazing neighbour who was always out walking either by himself or in the beginning with his dog Sophie and then with his grand dogs. We `ve enjoyed many chats with Paul and miss seeing him in the neighborhood.
All the best to his amazing family. You have gone through way too much in the past few years.

I´ve only known Paul for these past few years but always had lots of fun and laughter while golfing together. Usually with our Friday morning group.
I was sad to hear of his passing but will always remember his positive outlook on life.
