Paula BEALE Obituary



Paula Maynard Beale (nee Lewis)
Born June 15,1942, at Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia, (Harare, Zimbabwe), passed away on July 24, 2012 at the Lennox and Addington General Hospital, Napanee, Ontario, after a short illness courageously borne.
  Paula is predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Doreen Lewis of Marnhull, Dorset, England. She is survived and deeply mourned by her loving husband, Charles Beale of Napanee; her children Roderick Boothby (Cindy), Olivia Steedman (Mark), Alex Boothby (Janine Short); her step-daughter Addie Beale; sister Nichola Lewis; brother Anthony Lewis (Vivi). Adoring Grandmother to Andrea, Benjamin, Caitlin, Colin, Nathaniel and William and Aunt to Chris (Roberta) and Helen Lewis. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her many friends not only in Canada but over the world who loved her positive spirit and warm heart.
  Paula was educated in schools both in South Africa and Rhodesia, and at Exeter University, England, where she received an LLB in Law in 1964. She was admitted to the bar in Salisbury and served as a public prosecutor; then lectured in at University College, Rhodesia. In 1977. On emigrating to Canada, she first worked with Butterworths, then for many years, as a Director at the Ombudsperson's Office in Toronto. She and Charles were married in the year, 2000 and in 2008 Paula became a Canadian Citizen. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Kingston General Hospital and in particular to the Drs. Martinez, Pokrupa, Saunders and Thanes. We are also deeply grateful to Dr. Andrawis and the very caring respite and palliative care teams at the Lennox and Addington Hospital.
  A traditional burial service will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Anglican Church,100 Old Orchard Grove at Ridley Boulevard, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society of Canada.
