PAULINE LAURA CALEY

PAULINE LAURA CALEY obituary

PAULINE CALEY Obituary

Mrs. Pauline Laura Caley, age 80, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, September 22, 2025. Pauline was born June 9, 1945, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, the oldest of seven children to Gordon and Mabel Wheeler. Pauline began her career as a teacher in Scarborough, Ontario, and some of her former students still remember her not only as an exceptional educator, but also as a guiding light and lifelong friend. She had a natural gift for connecting with young minds, and her classroom was a place of encouragement, learning, and laughter. Years later, many would still call her "one of the best" teachers they ever had. Eventually, Pauline transitioned into a new chapter of her professional life, accepting the role of office manager at the law firm Caley & Wray. With characteristic diligence and warmth, Pauline brought structure and spirit to the firm. She led with both heart and high standards - many of the procedures and protocols she implemented remain in use nearly 20 years after her retirement, a lasting testament to her thoughtful leadership and deep integrity. Outside of work, Pauline was known for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering loyalty to family and friends, and her joyful embrace of life's simple pleasures. Whether hosting a family dinner, offering a listening ear, or telling one of her signature stories, Pauline had a way of making everyone feel at home. She lived her life guided by her personal motto: Live, Love, and Laugh - a sentiment that truly defined her. Pauline is survived by her beloved husband, Harold; her firstborn, Greg; and her son, Steve (Nisrein). Pauline is going to be missed every single day by all of them, and by all who had the joy of knowing her. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Tom (Pam), Ernie, Dennis (Laurel), Derrick (Judy), Glenn (Gwen), and her dear, sister Terryann (Scott). Her connection to her siblings was one of love, laughter, and lifelong camaraderie - each relationship as unique and enduring as Pauline herself.

Yesterday

I was one of those students who had the privilege of being taught by Ms Caley. I carry many of her lessons with me to this day. She was an extraordinary role model. I feel fortunate to have reconnected with her in later years.
My deepest condolences to her family. She was so proud of you.
