(September 1935 – October 22, 2025) Penelope "Penny" Lorimer passed away peacefully at home, in Vancouver, on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 90. Born in Toronto, Penny's life was defined by curiosity, creativity, and a quiet strength. An artist in many forms, she expressed her talents through pottery, silversmithing, and gardening. A graduate of Havergal College, Penny remained close with lifelong friends from her school days, as well as from summers in Muskoka, and skiing at Craigleith. She shared many adventures with her late husband, Don, sailing aboard Snow Goose and Romeiro, and on road trips in the MG. In Vancouver, Penny worked for many years at Hagar Books and volunteered at the Aquarium, and for decades at UBC Botanical Garden (Friends of the Garden). Penny also took great joy in being a grandmother and recently, a great-grandmother. She had a special fondness for her nieces, nephews, and their families, nurturing relationships across generations with her trademark warmth and thoughtfulness. She is survived by her children, Gaye Harden, Donalda (Rob) Secor, and Tim (Susan) Lorimer; her eight grandchildren, Heather, Stuart, and Angus Harden; Gordon, Peter, and Harry Secor; Jonathan (Claire), and Meredith Lorimer; and her great-grandchild, Flora Lorimer. At Penny's request, there will be no service. Memorial page available at
