PETER BRUCE ARCHIBALD CLARKSON FCPA, FCA With aching hearts we announce the death of our beloved Peter who died at home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 13, 2021. Born in London, England on June 19, 1932, to Geoffrey and Ess Clarkson, Peter grew up in England with his brothers, Alan (Monica) and Robert, deceased 2016 (Jean). Peter qualified later as a CA working in the UK, Canada, Australia, and Rhodesia. Peter met his love of 58 years, Sue on a voyage to Australia. Peter and Sue settled in Toronto with their children – Lisa (Gordie), Julie (Jon), Robert, and James (Victoria). And later 7 beloved grandchildren Ashley, Christopher, Katrina, Lucy, Henry, Emma, and Cooper - and an 8th grandchild to be born this November. Peter founded the accounting firm Clarkson, Rouble LLP. He went on to lead a distinguished career as a CA including lifetime membership by the CPA of Ontario and the prestigious 'Fellows' Designation award. Peter was a lifelong musician including 50 years in the 'Vansickle Ensemble', a Gilbert and Sullivan Orchestra and the Royal St. George's Alumni Orchestra. Peter sang in the choirs of All Saints Church, Kingsway, and St. Peter's Church, Erindale, with his beloved friend and choirmaster Clem. Peter was a longtime volunteer with the Kiwanis Music Festival including as treasurer, board member, and president. He received numerous awards including the 'Diamond Mel Osbourne Award' from Kiwanis Worldwide and the 'Outstanding Volunteer Service Award' from the House of Commons. Peter loved to spend time at his family cottage in Bancroft Ontario. Our family will miss, forever, Peter's keen mind, quick dry wit, but mostly his love, kindness, optimism, and strength. The family is indebted to Dorothy Ley Hospice for their tender care especially Dr. Haq and RN Veronica, as well as the staff and doctors at Sunnybrook ALS Clinic. A funeral service will be held on October 1st at 11 am at St. Peter's, Erindale Anglican Church. Sadly, due to Covid-19 restrictions only 40 invited guests are allowed though you can get a link to a stream of the service at:
