Peter CROOK Obituary

PETER JAMES CROOK December 17, 1962 - December 3, 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son and brother, Peter. Peter was an outgoing and popular guy who cared deeply for his family and his wide circle of friends, especially his core group of lifetime buddies. He was the loving son of Maxine and Farrell, brother of Kathleen (James Penturn) and Carolyn (Jamie Smith), and uncle to Rebecca, Sarah, and Jessica. He had a special soft spot for Auntie Donna, who adored him in return. He will be missed by all of us. If there was one thing that defined Peter, it was his loyalty to his family, friends and sports teams. He doted on his mother, helping care for her and maintain her home. He stood by his friends through thick and thin, and was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed. Peter loved his sports, playing hockey, disc/frisbee golf, and many other sports. The consummate sports fan, Peter followed his favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, faithfully (and frustratingly), for decades, never missing a game! He loved to cook, making a career of it and ultimately running his own catering business. His skills as a chef made him indispensable at family gatherings and the centre of attraction at picnics and parties, and especially at the Buffalo Bills tailgate parties that he so loved. Peter also had a quick wit, a good sense of humour, and always had stories, painful puns, and funny expressions to share. The family will be holding a private cremation, to be followed by a Memorial Service in February 2022, with details on the date and location to follow. We hope to see many of you there to hear your memories and stories of Peter. Should you wish, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

My heartfelt condolences to Peter's family and friends. I met Peter 6 years ago when we were working together at Ryerson. We became fast friends as we both were from the east end. I seen him last 2 years ago at Main and Danforth, he was with his beautiful mother he looked so good and introduced me to his mom. You will always have a piece of my heart Peter. Rest in Peace my friend xoxoxoxoxox

Sending condolences to Maxine, Farrell, Kathleen, Caroline, extended family & Peter´s many, many lifelong friends.
He was a wonderful family member, cook, host, friend & caregiver.
I have great memories of him from when we were 1st loves to a renewed friendship a few years ago. I was most impressed with how gently & consistently he cared for his mother and helped her stay living independently in her lovely home. I am so sorry Peter left this earth so prematurely... but he left his mark of love & kindness and many a full belly behind.

Peter - my first childhood sweetheart! I remember you "coming to my rescue" whenever classmates chased me on the Terrace at the Yonge/St. Clair TFS location.

And the number of times we ended up at your home near Coxwell subway station after school - much to my mother's chagrin who had to drive out too many times to pick me up!

You were a gentleman and fun (even in grade 2!). Even though we haven't kept in touch, I never forgot you. I am so sorry to learn of your much-too-early passing. My heart goes out to Kathleen and Carolyn, and the rest of your family.

I am making a donation to ICFC (International Conservation Fund of Canada) from our home in Vancouver, to support non-profits and NGOs protecting our planet for future generations. I'm thinking of you as I press send.

We have many fond memories of Peter, mostly at family events, after getting to know him through sister Kathleen, over 35 years ago. He most definitely cared deeply for family and friends. Our sincere condolences to all of Peter's friends and family, most especially Maxine, Ferrill, Kathleen, Carolyn, Aunt Donna, Rebecca, Sarah, Jessica, and the Buffalo Bills.

Peter and I were childhood friends and attended the Toronto French School together. Though we lost touch as adults, I fondly look back to fun times as kids.
Always up for an adventure, Peter and I, as young boys under ten, would get on the TTC and explore Toronto, often ending up at the museum/planetarium.
I am very sad at his passing. RIP my friend.

Pete was one of the nicest guys we´ve known! Such fond memories of all of the Buffalo Bills games and tailgate parties which always included the best food made by Pete of course!! We will also miss all of the Pittsburgh trips/visits and the Seminole trips/visits as well all which were packed with football, food, and fun! Pete made it a point to visit yearly in Pittsburgh along with several other friends such as Todd, Blaine, Bart, or anyone else that was willing to travel, if they were a friend of Petes they were always welcome and still are! Pete was known to our family and friends in Pittsburgh and Seminole as "Pete Crook the Cook" and he was the best cook/chef we´ve ever known! Pete always kept in touch over the past 25 years and so many great memories! Pete is already missed so much but will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts! Our deepest and sincere sympathy to his family and all of his friends!
