Peter KEARNS Obituary
KEARNS, Peter
After a five year struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy borne with great patience and dignity. Peter died at Providence Health Centre on Monday, February 7, 2005. He was the dearly loved son of the late Eileen (Gray) (2002), and William D. Kearns (1969) a cherished brother of Patricia and the late William B. Kearns (1990) and the loving father of Jacqueline Foster. Peter was an honest, caring and generous man whose faith sustained him during his struggle. He was a varacious reader, especially of ancient history and civilizations. A graduate of St. Michael's Choir School, he maintained a strong love of music throughout his life. He had a great interest in sports both as a participant, coach in his earlier years and observer (there were never too many football games). A long time member of the Balmy Beach Club, he was active in the Lawn Bowling section. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. We are very grateful for the loving care and support of the staff at Providence Health Centre, especially from Chestnut House and the Chaplaincy Department. Friends may call at SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME; 873 Kingston Road (west of Victoria Park Ave.) Toronto (416-698-2861) on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Basilica (83 Power Street) on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 11 o'clock. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Health Care Foundation.
