Peter LYON Obituary
LYON, Peter Hammond
Peacefully on Sunday, July 14th, 2002, at the Kingston General Hospital with loved ones at his side. Son of the late Dr. Mortimer and Florence Lyon. Beloved husband of the late Rea Lyon. Wonderful father of Joanna and Diana. Special grandfather, 'Pete', to Christopher, Samantha and Timothy; Jennifer, David, Cailleagh, Gillian and Joanna. Survived by his brother, Mortimer Lyon, and predeceased by his brother Hugh Lyon and his sisters, Ruth Martin and Joyce Osler.
Peter proudly served as a Flight Lieutenant in the RCAF in World War II. Later, he became a distinguished and well-respected businessman in Toronto, Brantford and Brockville. Peter loved his boat and over the years he piloted numerous, ever grander Pinafores through Lake Simcoe, Georgian Bay and the Thousand Islands. Above all, Peter had an outrageous sense of humour and to the very last, he delighted in amusing all who knew him. He was a true character.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, including Marian Beckett Lyon. Special thanks to Donna Robertson for her generous care of Peter.
At his request, a private cremation has been arranged.
