PETER NG Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Peter Ng, loving husband of Laura (nee Osborne) and devoted father to Sophia and Meredith. After a brief illness, Peter passed away on December 12, 2024, at Kelowna General Hospital, with his wife, his daughters, and his sisters by his side. Born in Hong Kong on March 1, 1965, Peter came to Canada as an infant and was the youngest of five siblings, cherished by John (Elisa), Martin (Winnie), Nancy (Avi), and Shelley (Ron). He was a proud uncle to ten nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Che Ngai and Toy Kin. Peter grew up in Belleville, Ontario and earned a degree in computer engineering at the University of Waterloo. He went on to play pivotal roles in the growth of many technology companies, ascending to executive leadership roles at Janna Systems, INEA Corp, Viigo, and BlackBerry among others. Peter and Laura married in 1996 and settled in Newmarket, Ontario to raise their family. Peter was a loving and supportive husband and father, sharing his passions for food, travel, and animals with his family and leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. The family moved to Kelowna, BC in 2022 to enjoy skiing, hiking, boating, and the Okanagan lifestyle. With a generous heart and a vibrant, engaging personality, Peter touched so many lives. A funeral service will be held on December 19th at Springfield Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. in Kelowna followed by a cocktail reception at Quails' Gate Winery. A memorial reception will be held in Ontario in January. Oh Laura, Sophie and Meredith. You have my deepest and most heartfelt condolences.

Peter was a gentleman, and a wonderful soul.

I worked with Peter at Janna and Siebel, and we remained connected in business for the rest of our careers, helping each other and supporting each other all the way through. He helped me a great deal as a colleague and a cheerleader like good friends do over the decades.

In recent times when we spoke we would spend time on the past but most often it was about his wonderful girls and the things they were doing and what was next. The last time we spoke in the summer we caught up on the important things , health, family, friends, what was coming next.

I was looking forward to seeing him again and seeing how we could work together again in Toronto in our ventures. I will never forget that call, because he told me he was so thankful for every ay and that he could be with the ones he loved every day... And that every one should live life like each day was their last. No regrets and "Go big or go home".

Our hearts are broken remembering the smiles, the laughing, the bright energy to live life that he shared so generously.

He will be deeply missed. He will be remembered forever.
