PETER PHILPOTT Obituary

PETER DAVIE PHILPOTT On November 30, 2023, Peter Davie Philpott died peacefully at the age of 71 after a long journey with cancer. Peter was born on August 2, 1952 to Stuart MacGregor Philpott and Marjorie (Davie) Philpott. From his first week of life, Peter spent every summer at his Thunder Beach cottage where he was full of life and love, surrounded by friends and family. Survived by his loving wife Joan (Howard) Philpott; two children, Heather (Philpott) Bugden, and John Philpott; and five grandchildren Jack, Holly, Lennon, Etta, and Shea. Sister Lynn (Philpott) Butler and brother, Don Philpott, beloved Uncle Pete to 13 nieces and nephews, their spouses, and their many children. Peter and Joan married in August of 1978 and shared countless experiences of love, travel, and family. Moving from Toronto, they lived in California, New York, and Connecticut before settling in their dream home in Carefree, Arizona. In Arizona, Peter loved hiking, sunsets, and the outdoors. Their home was marked by lively stories, laughter, and song. Peter had a successful career in sales management at Kodak, and then drew on that experience traveling the world as a trainer, coach, and mentor to his clients. He forged relationships and bonds wherever he went, including on the tennis court, curling ice, and in the boardroom with his colleagues and clients. He had a unique positive energy that will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House in Peter's memory.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the passing of Peter. He was a fine man and I enjoyed knowing him. I fondly remember how he would entertain the ValueSelling team at our yearly conferences. He was a great singer! He will be missed.

I knew Peter when we were teenagers as he lived just across the road. Our parents were great friends and he played with my brother Jim Doran. I recall a lot of back and forth. Our condolences to all the Philpott Butler family during this very difficult time.

Dear Joan,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of Peter. I am so sorry. Peter and I were close friends in the high school and university years. He was smart, thoughtful, energetic, and very fun to be around. He was a terrific guy and a good friend. We had lost touch over the years, but I remember Peter very fondly. I am very sorry for his passing.

Joan and family,
I am shocked and saddened reading about Peter's passing. He was a really great person with an incredible presence and the best boss I ever had. He was kind, scary smart, and loads of fun! I'm so sorry that he was taken at such a young age and my heart goes out to you and the family. I am so so sorry. Kathleen McHugh
