Peter THOMPSON Obituary
THOMPSON, Peter
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our cherished husband and father. At 66 years, Peter was in the prime of his life. He had spent much of his last day on his beloved bike, touring wine country with friends. He had a great love of nature and the outdoors, an amazing sense of wonder and an insatiable quest to understand how the world and the universe worked. He retired 6 years ago after a rich and rewarding career in engineering. After 42 years of marriage to Mary, he declared to be more in love every day. Mary and Peter shared a love of travel, adventure, good wine, good conversation, good friends and above all family. Peter leaves his adored children Chris (Celine) and Kelly (Carlos) who were a source of great pride and joy; his sisters Nora (David) and Nancy (Chris) and their children. He will be missed by the extended McCann family who loved him as a brother and a friend. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Neweduk-Erin Mills' Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W. (1 block east of Erin Mills Pkwy), Mississauga, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday October 15, 2011 at 3 p.m. If desired, donations can be made to Doctors Without Borders or the Salvation Army in Peter's memory.
