PETER ANDREW WAINWRIGHT THOMPSON

PETER ANDREW WAINWRIGHT THOMPSON obituary

PETER THOMPSON Obituary

(1951 – 2025) Peter passed away on October 26, 2025. He had been living for many years with Parkinson's Disease, which he endured with unfailing grace and courage. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Carol; children, Michael (Brittany) and Jennifer; grandchildren, Bryden and Colton; and siblings, Trevor Bradway (Celeste) and Wendy (Bill Pashby). Peter graduated in 1973 from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Film Studies. Peter was an entrepreneur from the day he graduated. He established his own film production company, PF Productions, making commercials. He later obtained a Real Estate Broker's licence and worked in commercial real estate and real estate financing. Along the way, he volunteered on the Boards of The Toronto Humane Society and the Ontario Film Review Board. Peter loved Muskoka. He spent many summers as a child at the family's cottage on Lake of Bays and at age 29 built his own beautiful log cottage on Lake of Bays, where he and his family spent wonderful times until shortly before his death. A private interment will take place. In remembrance and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to Parkinson Canada.

Have such great memories of our times at Lake of Bays with Peter and Carol. Later we all became parents around the same time and our son
Jonathan, would play with Michael and Jennifer!
Lots of memories of the wedding at your cottage. Robert (Rod) was the "Best Man". A gorgeous wedding!
Time flies and we all get older.
Our sincerest condolences and thoughts about the times we had together.

The photograph of Peter that introduces his obituary is the way I remember Peter - present, joyful, a bit dishevelled and "all in". Peter and I grew up on Cheltenham Ave amidst a gang of baby boomers learning about friendship, difference and being late for school. I learned of his Parkinson´s from Bill and reconnected with him around his mother´s passing and then we drifted apart. Peter was an important part of my childhood and I will always remember him fondly.
My condolences to his immediate family and hope that the many, good memories of his life provide comfort to all that loved him.
