Phillip BROWNING Obituary

"P.R." or "Phil" was raised by his mother, an elementary school principal, in Selkirk Manitoba with sister, Lorna. After home schooling and high school years, where he excelled in athletics, playing basketball, football and hockey, he attended the University of Manitoba, where he graduated in electrical engineering. During WW11 he served in the Navy, stationed in Canada, before embarking on a career that would take him from job sites in Québec, to Vancouver, and British Columbia before settling in Ontario, in 1969, as the CEO of A.B. Chance Company. While in Québec, he met and married Simone. Together they navigated corporate life, and formed friendships that lasted for years. Friends Ken and Judy Hills, and their family kept in daily touch with "Uncle Phil". Phil is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Darcia, Calvin and Lynne, who made it to his wonderful 100th birthday celebration, at Amica at Unionville. In later years, Phil's life centered around his new family in Kingston, home to a former classmate Helen Leslie. Her family became his family. They enjoyed several years together, before her passing in 2000, and the family including Sue and Don, Joy and Alan, James and Anya continued to include Phil in their lives and cared for him until his passing. Throughout his life Phil maintained his athleticism skiing beautiful slopes around the world, and golfing at his favourite York Downs Golf and Country Club. He gave great tips to friends on the best way to sharpen skates, wax skis, choose and swing a golf club. The family wishes to express their gratitude to, the staff at Amica Unionville for their exceptional care all the years he lived there. Funeral arrangements entrusted to, Robert J.
