AGG, Phyllis Elizabeth (née Cameron)
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014 at 70 after a long hospital stay. She fought hard and touched the lives of many staff at Toronto General, and we thank them for their care and kindness during this very difficult time. Daughter of the late Phyllis (Pat) Calvert Cameron and John Cameron, Phyllis was the beloved wife of David for 45 years (each other's first and only loves) and their marriage will always be an inspiration to their children. Loving Mother to Jennifer (husband, Roland Jean) and Jonathan (wife, Suzanne Beck). She will be so missed by her family, and the void she leaves behind is engulfing and painfully sad. Phyllis had so many friends it was sometimes hard to keep track of them, but we are so grateful to lifelong friend Laurie Pallett (practically a sister) and longtime friend Rosemary Vezina for all their love and consolation. Phyllis was a great supporter of the arts and a ferocious organizer, best demonstrated by her group of theatre friends who had many, many outings together and whose support and friendship brought her so much joy. And in her work she touched the lives of so many as an ESL teacher, whose students from as far back as the seventies still kept in touch with her. She had a wide circle of colleagues who both loved and respected her. She was just the best, and we'll miss her every day. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be so appreciated. A Celebration of (her wonderful) Life will be held on January 25th, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Please check
