Phyllis FOWLER Obituary

PHYLLIS JEAN (FITCH) FOWLER Phyllis Jean (Fitch) Fowler, born May 7, 1927, died peacefully on July 31, 2021. Born and raised in Calgary, AB, Phyllis obtained a B.Sc. (1948) in home economics then interned and worked as a dietitian in Edmonton. It was during this latter time that she met her husband of sixty years, Eldon, and together they built their family and lives. Phyllis was devoted, caring, supportive, energetic, stoic, strong and a profound source of compassion, selflessness and love. She made friends easily (many for life), was a committed and active member of her church and community, participated in a number of non-profit organizations, often in board positions, and was involved with CGIT for many many years. Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eldon, and is survived by her admiring and loving family: children, Brenda Carey (Bruce), Bruce Fowler (Jill Fenaughty), Donna Lessard (Paul), Ian Fowler (Merril Schmitt); six grandchildren, Marilyn Carey (Patrick Sullivan), Graham Lessard (Shannon), Neil Carey (Kathy Drouin-Carey), Andrea Lessard (Jason Hargreaves), Evan Fowler (Eleanor Bull), Brett Fowler (Diane Stolte); 12 cherished great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gary Fowler (Lesley); sister-in-law, Margaret Fitch; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by brother, Doug Fitch and sister, Wilda Hurst. Phyllis will be sadly missed and forever loved by all. Many thanks to the home-care services at Devonshire Village for helping her maintain her independence. A private family Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 14 at 2:00 p.m., and will be live-streamed (ssucedmonton.com/live) so her many dear friends and extended family can also attend the Celebration. Memories of Phyllis would be much appreciated at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to YMCA of Northern Alberta Foundation, directed to "Eldon & Phyllis Fowler Fund" 10315-109 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5J 1N3.

Planted Trees

Linda Fowler Wojciechowski

August 10, 2021

My Aunty Phyl was a very lovely lady, She was a kind and thoughtful person, that cared deeply for her Nieces and Nephews. She was very supportive to myself and her brother in law Keith Fowler, my dad, and to our mother Irene Fowler during her illness. She visited us regularly, even though we live in Ontario, and supported us in our bereavement of our father Keith Fowler. She never forgot my birthday, and I received a birthday card every year. I cared for her deeply and will miss seeing her,
Much love and prayers to her family Aunty Phyl had a live full and well lived
from Linda Fowler Wojciechowski and the Wojciechowski family, Sean, Krista and Sara
