Rae LEGAULT Obituary
LEGAULT, Rae Slater
Rae passed away peacefully with her
family at her side, on Sunday,
February 21, 2016, at Bridgepoint
Health Centre, after a valiant fight
with cancer. Although the last year
was trying, filled with both hope and
disappointment, we were able to
spend time together and talk at
length in that deeply open,
thoughtful and fun way of hers, so
that as we faced her passing
together our thoughts felt complete
and in unison. She lived her 84 years
with such youthful passion and an
irrepressible desire for learning. She
had a keen sense of fun and a unique
appreciation of quality that made life
an adventure. And she loved the law,
becoming a lawyer in mid-life; her
legal career culminating in a
wonderfully fulfilling two decades on
the Animal Care Review Board of
Ontario, with nine of those as
Chair. She cherished meaningful
friendships. Most of all, she loved her
family with a strength that was
boundless and for which we will be
forever grateful. She was married to
Marcel for 51 years, and is survived
by her children, Linda and Danny
(Baska); her grandchildren, Casimir,
Imogene, Aleksandra and Jack; and
of course Manoir Passepartout and
Milou. We will be having a tribute
luncheon for her at Mirth Farm --
which she had a hand in conceiving --
on May 7, 2016 at noon; friends,
family and colleagues are graciously
invited, and Linda or Danny can
provide directions.
