Ralph HALBERT Obituary

RALPH HALBERT Peacefully, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the age of eighty eight, with his loving wife Roz of sixty five years by his side. Beloved father of Michael and Batsheva, Daniel and Gail, and Perri and Elliot Kirshenblatt. Devoted brother and brother-in-law of Gerry and Tootsie, and the late Rhoda and Milton Brown. Adoring 'Ralphy'to Adam, Naftali and Brielle, Shalom, Leah and Dovid, Adina, Yoel, Jenna, Lauren, Cole, Shanna, Maddie, Eden, Jason, and great- grandfather to Calla and Aleph. Ralph leaves an everlasting legacy as an exemplary family man and philanthropist, dedicated to making an impact in the Jewish community through connecting Canada and Israel. He was an unwavering advocate of higher education and the arts through countless organizations including the University of Toronto, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and UJA. Heartfelt thanks to our dear Jessie and our special caregivers. We will forever hold Ralph close to our hearts. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin) for service on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Beth Tzedec Memorial Park. Shiva at One St. Thomas Street, Toronto. Memorial donations may be made to the Halbert Centre for Canadian Studies c/o Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 416-485-8000.

He was a good friend. Ralph was a person to be admired for being a caring person, to his friends and in the community. His dedication to education and accomplishments in that field were exceptional.
As a longstanding friend i know he was loved by his large community of friends and will be remembered fondly c.Roz. and family you know that Ralph will be greatly missed and i join with many others in sending you our love and truly heartfelt condolences at this difficult time.
