Rayma SPRINGER Obituary

SPRINGER, Rayma Jeannette
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Charles. Loving mother of Janet and husband Blake Murphy, Gale and her husband John Harild, Diane and her husband Greg Finkle. Much cherished Grandmother to Kara, Matthew, Laura, Jenna, Beth, Meghan and Thomas. She will be especially missed by her sisters Valene and Frances and their husbands Jim and Richard, as well as dear friends and neighbours of fifty years, Mary and Jim Kearns. Although small in stature, Rayma demonstrated a strength in spirit and thoughtful concern for others that endeared her to family and so many friends. Rayma gave of herself to her community in many capacities, in particular as a longstanding volunteer for York Central Hospital. Rayma's family extends sincere thanks for the care and consideration provided by the untiring Doctor Matilda Ng, who for nine years sustained Rayma in her battle. Also to Doctor Janet Morse and the staff of YCH. Special appreciation to Doctor Susan Coish for the wonderful support she provided in Rayma's final hours. To all, we are extremely grateful. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 140 Brooke Street, Thornhill, on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. In memory of Rayma, donations may be made to York Central Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
