BOOKER, Reginald (Rex)
The family is saddened to announce the passing of Rex Booker on September 23, 1999 in Toronto. He will be deeply missed by his children John and Virginia Booker (Etobicoke), Judy and Don Armstrong (California) and Hal and Olwen Booker (Richmond, B.C.), grandchildren Rick and Jill Booker, Linda Gudz, Christine Yerrill, Jennifer Murphy, Colleen and Heather Booker and greatgrandson Maxwell Yerrill and extended families. Born in 1915, in England, Rex was a Chartered Accountant. He and his late wife, Valerie, moved with their three children to Canada in 1952, settling in Toronto. He was a comptroller for Orenda Engines until 1970, and later worked for the Federal Government in Ottawa. He retired in 1976 to Emerald Isle, Peterborough. As an active skater Rex was a long-standing member of the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club and the Minto Skating Club. He pursued his love of the sport through judging after his own skating days were over. Visitation Friday, September 24, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre - Mississauga (Dixie Rd., 2 lights south of Eglinton) 905-602-1580, A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel, Saturday, September 25 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Mary Lewis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
