HOWDEN, The Venerable H. Reginald (Archdeacon of the Anglican Church of Canada)
Peacefully, after a short illness at the Toronto General Hospital on Saturday, December 18, 1999. The Venerable H. Reginald Howden, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Edythe (nee Haughland) Howden. Survived and sorely missed by his loving sons Mr. Justice Peter H. Howden and Sandra, of Barrie and Lee Howden and his wife Linda, of St. Catharines. Dear grandfather of Christopher Howden, of Toronto, Eric Howden, of London and Sarah Howden, of St. Catharines, Mark Howden, of Toronto, Nancy Boivin and her husband Charles, of Montreal. Beloved father-in-law of Janet Howden and Mary Howden. Cousin of Mr. and Mrs. F. Patterson, of Peterborough. Archdeacon Howden served his Lord throughout his life and the parishes at Lakefield; Trinity Church, Barrie; St. Michael and all Angels, Toronto; St. Joseph's and Church of the Redeemer, Detroit and Southfield, Michigan, U.S.A.; Holy Trinity Church, Thornhill; Church of the Resurrection, Thorold, and St. John's Church, Port Robinson; and assisted at St. Thomas Church, St. Catharines. The family express our heartfelt thanks to Patricia Tappin for her many kindness' to him. He is sorely missed by his many friends and those he helped. Friends may call at the SteckleyGooderham Funeral Home, (Clapperton and Worsley Sts.) Barrie on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Collier Street, Barrie, Ontario on Wednesday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m. Reception will follow. Interment Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Primate's World Relief Fund or the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie would be appreciated.
