RENE BECKER Obituary

After a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Rene passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, November 18, 2024. She was the only child of Holocaust survivors, Avrum Swiczarczyk (Sweet) and Dora Finkelman. Beloved wife of 56 years to Dr. Harold Becker. Loving mother and mother-in-law to Dory Becker and Matthew Lawrence, Lisa and Jamie Fisherman, and Adam and Stephanie Becker. Devoted Bubbie to her seven grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Ethan, Jake, Izzy, Jaxon and Justin. Rene was a gifted poker and bridge player, as well as an avid reader. She was a successful businesswoman and had a love for travel. Most important to Rene was her family. In the end, her wishes were simple, to spend her last days with her husband, children and grandchildren. Words cannot express how profound a loss like this is. Rene will be remembered for her strength of character, her wisdom, her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family. She will be greatly missed. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin), for service on Wednesday, November 20th, at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Pardes Shalom Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to One Family Fund (https://bit.ly/48VYYx0).

My condolences go out to Renee's family. I have known Renee since I was a little girl, and when I was older, I had the privilege of working for her. She was an incredible woman and will be greatly missed. Sending love and light!
