Richard CROSBY Obituary
RICHARD WILLIAM CROSBY Born December 23, 1928 in St. Augustine, Florida, died March 30, 2022 at his home in Toronto. Son of the late Ian and Alta Crosby of Tillsonburg, Ontario. He leaves behind his sister, Mary Jean Demeyere and her children as well as a few devoted friends. Richard lived a long life during which he had many varied experiences, made many friends and influenced many people. He was extremely intelligent, had an open mind, and was a very kind man. In his youth, he was an enthusiastic swimmer, and excelled at diving. He also played the saxophone and was an avid gymnast. Richard graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Master's Degree in Psychology. As a foray into the field of psychology, he did aptitude evaluations. Early in his working life, he was employed as a psychologist by the Department of Corrections in Ontario. In 1959, he began a career in marketing research which became the focus of his working life. He started this career at Canadian Facts Company Limited which was a premiere Canadian research company. Eventually he became its President. Along the way he was one of the founding members of the Professional Marketing Research Society as well as President of the Canadian Association of Marketing Research Organizations. In 1971, along with a few colleagues, he formed The Creative Research Group. It became a successful, innovative research company. He headed the company until early in the 1980's when he followed his dream and took an early retirement. He enjoyed many winters in his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, always appreciating the warmth of the place in which he was born. In line with his expressed wishes he passed away at his home. Thank you to Abraham Cruz and Mirek Gol of The Care Company for their dedicated support which helped make this possible. At Richard's request his body was cremated without a funeral service. He will be widely remembered.
