Dick passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane; his children, Jeff (Carrie), Christine, and Andrea (Justin); his grandchildren, Madeline and Tyler; and his sister, Margaret. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anne, Dinah, and Jill. Born in 1942 in Australia, Dick's family lived in several countries before settling in Canada. He married Diane in 1968, and in 1982 they moved to Oakville, Ontario, where they raised their family. Dick had a distinguished career with KPMG, beginning in Montreal, where he rose quickly and became a partner at age 30. He later led the firm's insurance practice and served as Deputy Chair of the firm. He was named a Fellow Chartered Accountant, a rare honour, and is remembered by colleagues for his leadership, integrity, and mentorship. Following retirement, Dick served on the boards of Foresters, RGA, ACE, and Definity Financial Corp. He also held numerous philanthropic governance roles. Known for his steady judgment, generosity, and lifelong curiosity, Dick was an avid golfer who was proud of his four holes-in-one and treasured his golf communities in Florida and at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club. The family extends sincere thanks to Princess Margaret Hospital for their compassionate care. A visitation will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 2-5 p.m. at Kopriva Taylor, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville. A celebration of life will follow in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (
