Richard SYMSYK Obituary

SYMSYK, Richard Michael
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Richard. Best friend and cherished husband of Suzanne, most loving guide and dedicated father to Meghan, Krystyn and Michael. Beloved son of Stan (1993) and Jenny Symsyk (Arend Dekker). Uncle to John Blake, Paula Merrick, Taryn Hipkiss and Caitlyn Dekker. Devoted nephew of Stella Bosley, Nora Fessey and Laurie Symsyk. In addition to being a wonderful husband and absolutely THE best Dad, Rich has been an accomplished athlete representing Canada in two Olympics, a respected teacher at Governor Simcoe Secondary School, a prized rowing coach, and a fiercely loyal friend. His life has influenced many who will also be devastated by his loss. His sense of humour will be sadly missed. Thirty-two years with Suzanne and 60 years with his family & friends was simply not enough.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905) 684-6346, on Sunday December 26, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. and on Monday December 27, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent, St. Catherines on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. On-line tributes may be made at www.mem.com
