RITA HAMILTON We are sad to announce the passing of our mother Rita Hamilton. She died peacefully in her home in her 93rd year. A mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was predeceased by her loving husband and partner, Ben, in 2019. Born in London, England, Rita lived a full and adventurous life, living in many countries around the world. A trailblazer among women, she worked side by side with our father in a variety of businesses, finally settling in Toronto, where she lived for over 55 years. While London was always close to her heart, and the subject of many reminiscences about 'home', her determination to make a home here for all of us is her enduring legacy. Family was truly what Rita was all about, and she will be sorely missed by her children, Susy and Brian, Gina and Graeme, and Wendy and David; her grandchildren, Laura and Eli, Julie and Daniel, Jeff and Rachel, Max and Gabrielle, Emilie, Samantha and Elliott; Zoe and Stuart; and her 11 great-grandchildren, Sadie, Griffin and Georgia, Lulu and Penny, Bianca and Mikayla, Joshua and Charlotte, and Sabrina and Benjamin. Rita was a force to be reckoned with – a brave woman who was a proud and a strong leader and a voracious reader. She was an inspiration to us all. We would like to thank Amica on the Avenue for their support and assistance during this most difficult time. Donations in Rita's name can be made to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at
tlcpc.org. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, 619 Roselawn Avenue, Judean Benevolent Section.
