ROBERT WINSTON ASH

1940 - 2025 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Winston Ash, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, in his home, at the age of 84. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Meredith and her husband, Douglas Macfarlane, and Ian and his wife, Kara Ash; and fondly remembered by his four beautiful grandchildren, Owen, Maxwell, Emerson, and Evan. The son of Cecil and Pearl Ash of Sydney, Nova Scotia; Winston was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Jane Ash (nee MacInnis), who passed away in 2009. Winston lived a full and vibrant life. A proud Canadian who came up through middle management in GE Canada before leaving to become a CFO/CEO of various successful businesses in Canada. As an original member of the Georgian Peaks Ski Club and a founding member of The Lora Bay Golf Club, Winston was an avid skier and golfer, and loved a good restaurant and a glass of wine. He instilled his passion for baseball with the children of Etobicoke, running and coaching the Islinton and Kingsway baseball organizations. A celebration to honour Winston's life will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation. Winston's legacy of love, kindness, and mentorship will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
