BEAL, Robert Clyde (Bob)
Peacefully, at home, with his family, on Sunday, September 13, 1998. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife and best friend Audrey "Gibby" (nee Gibson). Dear father of Barbara Hotson and her husband John, of Toronto, Marni Fife and her husband Bill, of Hamilton, Becky Blakely and her husband Brent, of Invermere, British Columbia, and Dr. John Beal and his wife Kitty, of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Loving grandfather of Michael and Jessica Hotson, Jason Kipps, Candice Blakely and Robbie and Christopher Beal. He will be remembered by his older brother Ernie Beal and his wife Rosemary, of Hamilton, and younger sister Marion Boehmer and her husband Bill, of Maryland, USA. Bob was born in Hamilton on February 1, 1922. He graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the University of Toronto in 1945. Member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. His professional career spanned from 1945 to 1980 with British American Oil and later Gulf Oil. Bob will be remembered for his determination and imagination, his passion for the open water and the open skies and his enthusiasm for the management and the enjoyment of golf. He devoted his energies to the YMCA of Canada and Geneva Park in particular. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy. 10, north of QEW) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Stephen's on-the-Hill United Church, 998 Indian Road, Mississauga on Thursday, September 17th at 10:30 a.m. Cremation has taken place and a family interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Bob's memory, may be made to the St. Stephen's on-the-Hill United Church Memorial Fund, 998 Indian Road, Mississauga, L5H 1R5 (905) 278-9245 or to the Mississauga Hospital Oncology Unit, 100 Queensway West, Mississauga, L5B 1B8.
