ROBERT BRADSHAW Obituary
Robert Harding Bradshaw - known to many as "Bobby" - passed peacefully on June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, Soledad, and his children, Melinda, Robynne, and Alex. Born on the Ides of March in 1936, Bobby lived a life that could only be described as cinematic. Rambunctious, rebellious, and endlessly charismatic, he chased adventure from an early age, often choosing the path less traveled - rarely the conventional one. In his early 20s, he set off for Europe as an alternative to pursuing more formal education, leaving behind a trail of stories that would become part of the Bradshaw family lore. Returning to Toronto, he channeled his energy into a booming career in life insurance, where his charm and love of sport made him a trusted broker to some of the world's most celebrated athletes - including Muhammad Ali, Evel Knievel, Darryl Sittler, Bobby Orr, and Bjorn Borg. Bobby's entrepreneurial drive took him across the globe, opening offices in Toronto, New York, Bermuda, and London. Life with Bobby was never dull. He and his second wife, Carole, raised their three children during an eight-year adventure in Bermuda - a reflection of Bobby's belief that life should be lived boldly. A man of contradictions, Bobby could be both devilish and deeply devoted. He had a notorious fondness for nicknames, practical jokes, and storytelling, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met - from friends and colleagues to his children's friends and the many dogs who followed him loyally through life. In fact, dogs were often the only ones who could keep him grounded. Later in life, to everyone's surprise, it was a cat - shared with his third wife, Soledad - that became his unlikely companion and a new source of laughter and affection. After years abroad in Bermuda, the UK, and Mexico, Bobby found peace in Prince Edward County, Ontario, where he lived out his later years with Soledad - his wife and confidant. Bobby is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Melinda Robertson (Ian; children: Montana, Alexa, Hunter), Robynne Brown (Ward; children: Zoë, Natasha, Jonathan); his son, Alex Bradshaw (Sara; children: Kurtis, Amanda, Dylan); his wife, Soledad; and his second wife, Carole Mackenzie. He is also survived by his great-granddaughters, Scotland (daughter of Montana) and Wren (daughter of Amanda). He leaves behind countless stories, friends, and memories that will be shared and cherished for generations. RHB, you rocked the world. Your energy filled every room with laughter, mischief, and love. You will be deeply missed - and forever remembered. A small private service will be held for the family.
