Robert BURRY Obituary

With profound sadness, we share the news of Robert's passing, peacefully at the age of 77, at his home in Oakville. Youngest child of the late Bruce and Mary (Higgins) Burry,Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Karen (Dooher). Robert was a wonderful father to Geoffrey and Amanda; a loving father-in-law to Amanda's husband Mike; and an adoring grandfather to Jackson. He is survived by his sisters, Belinda (Don), Heather (Dennis) and Jill (Rick); his brother, Bruce (Peggy). His older brother, Paul (Wendy), sadly passed away in 2014. Robert was born in Toronto, but spent most of his adult life in Oakville. He had an exceptional career in textile sales management, where he served as a National Sales Executive for over 30 years. Robert had a cheerful, outgoing personality and had many passions, including travel, photography, cottaging and golf. He thoroughly enjoyed a wide range of music. Robert was a favourite uncle to many of his nieces and nephews. His fun-loving approach to life always attracted young people who wanted to share time with him. In order to honour his request, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life is planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Geoffrey and Amanda,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a wonderful and caring gentleman, who always had a smile for everyone. I have great memories of him and have heard many stories from my Mom & Dad, and Aunts and Uncles over the years.......thinking of you all and sending love.

Amanda and Geoffrey. It's with heavy heart that I'm writing on your father's obituary page. I'm so terribly sorry to hear of his passing. He had the most amazing wife, and two of the most wonderful children. I know he was so very proud of you both. He always showed live and happiness every time I was around him and Karen. My love and prayers are with you both. I'm sure Karen was waiting for him with open arms.
