ROBERT GAVIN CARMICHAEL Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family, at Parkwood Hospital, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in his 81st year. He was cared for until the end by his devoted and beloved wife of 55 years, Freda. Cherished father of Tim Car michael and wife Pa tty, Catherine Ke rkhof and late husband Joseph, Lori Carmichael and partner Barry Baker, and Ly nda Sinclair-Hardie and husband Fred. Loving grandfather of Sarah, Matthew, Ty son, Ryan, Gillian, Benjamin, Ethan, Shae-Lyn. Sadly missed by his dog Beau. Predeceased by parents Florence and Gavin Carmichael, brother Welbourne and sister Doreen. Robert worked most of his career in the food industry as Director of Purchasing for Ar va k. He wa s re ve re d fo r his infallible memor y, honest hard work and giving full credit to those with whom he worked. Ro bert received the James O'Rourke Trophy as well as the 'Foodservice...We Care About Easter Seal Kids' Award. Robert was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, 1205, where he ser ved many years helping others and providing leadership. Visitation will be held at the We stview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Inter ment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
