ROBERT SHIER COATSWORTH

(September 22, 1953 – October 19, 2025) Rob was born, raised, and educated in Toronto, where he attended UTS and Trinity College. Armed with an MBA, he began a career in finance. Robbie married Virginia (née Morawetz) and together they moved to British Columbia, a place that remained close to his heart. After returning to Toronto, they raised four children: Signy (Jordan), Alex (Travis), Gord (Ainsley), and Kathryn (Nick). Throughout his lifetime, Rob was interested in travel, entrepreneurial pursuits, the arts, social justice, and helping others; he maintained an optimistic outlook on life. Rob was remarried to Shelagh Larkin with whom he enjoyed international adventures and local nature. He appreciated his extended families of in-laws, nieces and nephews, and was most proud to be "Grampa" to Beatrice, Henry, Owen, Morgan, Taylor, Veronica, and Emerson. Predeceased by parents, Winnifred and Cuthbert; Rob also leaves behind his older brothers, Cubby, Jamie, and their families. Rob died peacefully in hospital, surrounded by close friends and family in his final days. No service. A gathering will be arranged at a later date.
