Bob was born in 1939 in Northern Ireland, and died peacefully on February 28, 2026, at The Wexford Residence. His mother was Jean Crawford and his father, John Crawford. His wife, Alice Crawford (née Smith), died in 2012, a loss that left Bob heartbroken. Bob is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary and her husband, Steve; his nieces, Paula, Liz, and Shannon; and his nephew, Kent. His friends included, Mel, Tyler, and Maureen. Bob's parents moved to Toronto in 1949, when Bob was ten. He attended East York Collegiate and was a proud member of the De La Salle Drum Corps. He worked at Connaught Laboratories, graduated from York University, and earned a graduate degree from Niagara University. Bob later became a schoolteacher with the Scarborough Board of Education. "Mr. Crawford" was especially popular with his students at Lynnwood Heights Junior Public School. He was an avid reader, a collector of model airplanes, and a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Buffalo Bills, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bob spent the final years of his life at The Wexford Residence in Toronto. The family would like to thank the staff for the care and kindness they showed Bob. He has been cremated. A private gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Those who remember Bob - including former students - may leave a tribute on the Ogden Funeral Home website (
www.ogdenfuneralhome.com). Donations in his memory may be made to women's or animal causes, or to The Wexford Residence.
