Robert DANIELS Obituary

ROBERT DANIELS 'Bob' November 7, 1945 - March 12, 2023 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear Bob. Bob was the beloved husband of Kashi Richardson; father of Claire (Chris Dewar) and Mia (James Crowe); and grandfather of Boden. Born and raised in Montreal, Bob attended Montreal West High School and Sir George Williams University (later Concordia). Many of the friends he made at that time remained friends for life. In 1969 Bob moved to the West Coast where he met his life partner, Kashi. They were pioneers and entrepreneurs in the early days of Whistler when they started and ran Snow Goose Transportation, Whistler's first bus service. Travel adventures were also central to their lives together and they backpacked extensively through Asia and Latin America. This tradition was kept up with their daughters for more than 30 years. In recent years, Bob cherished the peaceful quiet of summers at their off-grid cabin on the BC coast. This remote and beautiful place was a haven for quality time with family and close friends. Bob loved having the wind in his face. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, playing hockey and trips on his motorcycle were all an important part of his life, especially when shared with others. He had a wonderful zest for life and lived life to the fullest, staying deeply connected to family and community throughout. He was skiing with his grandson and daughters right up until the end of December. It is a testament to Bob that he never retired from work. He was a realtor for over 35 years and continued to serve his loyal clients even at the age of 77. He valued hard work his entire life and went above and beyond for others. Bob loved listening to people's stories; his curiosity and warm smile made everyone feel at home. He will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle soul with an easy laugh and a generous heart. Bob was the second child of Ruth Daniels (Vickers) and William 'Danny' Daniels. He leaves four siblings, Judy Daniels-Clark, Rick Daniels (Julianne), Louise Daniels, and Scott Daniels (Karyne); as well as nephews, Steven and Chris Clark, Marc, Christian and Ben Daniels, Brady and Austin Daniels; and his niece, Alexis Richards. On the Richardson side of the family, Bob will be missed by his brother-in-law, Paul (Mariko); and sisters-in-law, Lisa, Kristina and Vicky; as well as his nephews, Christopher, Ian, Nick, Adam, Tim, Patrick; and nieces, Lindsay and Ashley. Celebrations of Bob's life are planned for May/June in Montreal and Whistler. Donations can be made to Union Gospel Mission, 601 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V6A 1J7.

I´m greatly saddened by the passing of Bob Daniels in March. I met and worked for Bob and Kashi´s travel company as a tour guide and bus driver. He and Kashi were the best kind of people, lifelong adventurers who shared that spirit with others.

Bob´s eyes smiled when he did and that is how I shall always remember him . A kind and cheerful person - always engaging . Gone from our sights but never our hearts.

Bob´s smile always disarmed me and led us into intestine conversations about everything from real estate to mysticism. He was a treasure.

Dear Kashi - I just read about Bob´s passing and I want to pass on my sympathies. I attended Montreal West High School with Bobbie (he was always Bobbie to us) and he was such a great and wonderful friend. He had a smile that lit up the whole room. He will be missed for sure. Another good fellow gone far too soon.
