May 20,1929 - February 5, 2025 Robert "Bob" Roy Gardiner passed away suddenly, on February 5, 2025, leaving behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Marnie Edwards. A Renaissance man whose career in the arts spanned over seven decades, Bob worked as an actor, writer, journalist, filmmaker, producer, director, and teacher. His distinguished career included work with CBC, Global News, Ottawa Citizen, and various other media outlets. He hosted "Four for the Road" and wrote the popular children's show "Hi Diddle Day," where he appeared as Mr. Post. As a filmmaker, he created documentaries worldwide and produced training films for the Department of National Defence and CSIS. As an award-winning playwright, works included "Glengarry Days." Bob loved and is survived by his children, Jessica, Rob (Tina), and Fred Gardiner; grandchildren, Marlowe, Jordan, Cassidhe, Sarah, and Jade; and great-grandson, James. Will be deeply missed by the Edwards, Fisher, Harry and Stinson families. Predeceased by mother, Myrtle; and father, Charles "Chuck" Gardiner, the Hockey Hall of Fame Chicago Blackhawks goalie.
