ROBERT LEONARD HORWITZ

(December 11, 1944 – October 20, 2025) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Horwitz in the early morning of October 20th, following a sudden massive stroke while enjoying one of his favourite pastimes, watching the Blue Jays. Robert was born in Montreal to Jeannette and Elias Horwitz, and was the younger brother of the late Martin Horwitz. He was the devoted husband and partner in life for more than 54 years to Sandi Horwitz (Pinsky); and a loving father to Tracey Horwitz (Marc Roy) and Elisa Horwitz (Alex Zaphiratos). Treasured Grandpa to Jack, Levi, Zoe, and Olivia He was a cherished uncle to Cindy and Jeffrey; and a proud great-uncle to Jordan and Evan Puritt. He will also be sadly missed by sister-in-law, Ana Pinsky; and nephews, Jeff (Robyn) and Kevin. Special mention to his lifelong friends, Milton and Ruth Schacter. Robert's greatest joy was his family, whom he loved deeply. After earning his MBA from York University, Robert built a long and fulfilling 30-year career at Procter & Gamble, where he rose through the ranks to serve as treasurer. He was fortunate to retire early and he and Sandi travelled widely for over 25 years. For more than four decades, Robert's life was also deeply enriched by his connection to Oraynu Congregation, where he found both meaning and community through his volunteer activities. Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his love of life, his sense of humour, and his unwavering devotion to his loved ones.
