ROBERT BERNARD KEEFLER Bob died peacefully at age 94, in a hospital, after a brief illness. His family had all been able to say their goodbyes to their treasured husband, father and grandfather. He lived all his life in Montreal, where he was born to Major General Ralph Holley Keefler and Beatrice Taschereau, embodying the two founding Canadian cultures, a cause to which he devoted much of his life. He attended Roslyn School, Lower Canada College, Westmount High School and graduated from McGill University School of Engineering. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Joan Keefler; his children, Nicole Keefler ( Jeremy Stern); and grandchildren, Juliana Keefler-Johnson, Natasha Keefler-Johnson, Alexi Keefler-Johnson, and Michelle Keefler (Pete Spitellie); grandchildren, Graeham Spitellie, Amelia Spitellie, Juliette Spitellie; step-children, Marc de B. Domville, Philippa de B. Domville (Peter van Gestel); step-grandchild, Molly H. Domville; and Andrea de G. Domville. He was predeceased by his daughter, Danielle. He also will be missed by his only sister, Lois Kehoe and her family. His eclectic business career in sales, relocation counseling and consulting was marked by his strong belief in participating and making a contribution to ensure effective results. His work in the community for the McGill School of Engineering, the Quebec Liberal Party, Positive Action (precursor to Alliance Quebec) and for the SAAQ reflected his passion for the pluralistic character of Quebec society. His family remember his passion for photography, his love of music, keen intellect, curiosity and gentle loving disposition. Above all, he made us smile. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Atwater Club, Sunday, April 2, at 4 p.m. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the ADHD Family Research Project, ADHD Clinic, care of the Douglas Foundation (5140 762-3003, at
