ROBERT KEEGAN Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Keegan on November 7, 2024, at the age of 86. Bob passed away peacefully at Mississauga Trillium Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bob will be dearly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 62 years, Patricia "Pat"; four children, Peter (Tammy), Brian (Kelly), Mike (Stephanie) and Joanne Fulsom (Gord); 11 grandchildren, Michelle, Amy, Daniel, Owen, Ryan, Emily, Sarah, Ava, Reed, Spencer and Erin; his sister, Peggy Paterson, and her husband, Tim and family. Predeceased by his parents, Dan and Gladys Keegan. Born and raised in Toronto, Bob, a Chartered Accountant, worked for several well-known international corporations in a financial capacity and finished his career practicing as a self-employed CPA in 2017. Over the years, Bob was involved with a number of ministerial functions at St. Christopher's Church and a long-time member of the parish finance committee. He was an avid sports fan following the Leafs, Blue Jays, golf and tennis tournaments and the NFL. He was a great athlete himself playing at a high level of hockey with St. Mikes. The love for hockey never stopped for Bob, as he spent many years coaching his boys in their younger years. He loved playing golf with his children and grandchildren, all good athletes, and his long-time St. Mikes buddies. He and Pat spent their winter months in Florida, where they golfed and had many good times with their Florida group. Dinners usually ended with a rousing game of Wizard. They were fortunate to be able to travel extensively and spent many enjoyable times on the high seas and touring many countries. They just loved it. They were indeed blessed. Thanks to God. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and Mississauga Trillium Hospital, as well as the PSW's that provided in home care for him. Special thanks for the care and attention provided by Dr. Mary Fran Bolland and her father, Dr. Peter Bolland, before her. Appreciation also goes out to the friends and neighbours whose help and watchful eyes brought comfort to both Pat and Bob. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th, at Turner and Porter Funeral Home, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass is being held on Wednesday, November 20th, at St. Christopher's Church, 1171 Clarkson Rd. N., Mississauga, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation in Bob's memory to The Compass Foodbank and Outreach Centre. The Compass is a local charity that was close to Bob's heart. Donations can be made at https://thecompass.ca/donate-funds/ or cheques can be sent to The Compass at 427 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, ON L5H 1H8. I'll miss Bobby's laugh. He never got tired of my SMC jokes at his expense. Beautiful cat as Louis Armstrong would say about real people. Thanks for the memories, pal

Dear Pat & The Keegan Family We have such wonderful, long standing memories of Bob. He truly was the example of a gentle man. Phil always remembers shared time at St. Mikes and we both remember all the time preparing for our weddings only three weeks apart when you & I worked at St. Michael´s Hospital. Our hearts are saddened by your loss, but hopefully you will all be consoled knowing that Bob is enjoying his well-earned Eternal Rest. Our prayer is that you will all receive God´s blessings in the weeks to come

My sincere condolences to Pat and the Keegan family. I first met Bob through church and hockey. I occasionally shared ice time with him coaching the boys. I always admired his devotion to his faith, love of family, and dedication to his profession. I last saw Bob golfing at Guelph Lakes with his buddies, and he still had that magical twinkle in his eyes. May he rest in peace in the presence of our Lord God and all the saints.
