Robert was a unique, talented, crazy, funny, creative and loving person. I still can't believe he is gone. Although we did not spend a lot of time together, there was always a connection and he always brought out the 'character' in me. Life will certainly never be the same for those who knew him. Robert, I will miss you always but you will always have a place in my heart. Robert was so lucky to have had John as his life partner. I cannot think of anyone that could have been better, stronger, more loving or more caring than John was and is. John, I am so sorry for your loss.

It's been almost 30 years that I have known Robert and John and albeit not close dinner friends or companions he always had a place in my heart and our paths often crossed. A true gentleman and a scholar, Robert's presence and being will surely be missed and a void will be left in all our hearts ! I first came to have my hair cut by Robert in 1994 & I never stopped coming - not just for the excellent cut but also because I loved spending that time with Robert. He made me feel like I was going to be OK even when I felt I wasn't - thanks to his warmth, wit, empathy & generosity. (We were also known to wickedly skewer people we thought were acting like fools!) I also loved watching Robert & John interact, treating one anothet with such love, respect & tenderness. I miss Robert like mad & I always will.
