My deepest condolences to the family.
Knowing Bob since the 80s, he was one of the nicest people I had met at ARF who always had time for a chat and laugh. When I moved into the Tower from the Clinical Institute, he generously took the time to introduce me to colleagues across 3 floors as a welcome. Moving to another dept at CAMH, I would either run into Bob coming into work or at his office for a smile and a chat. We're all better for having known Bob.

Condolences on behalf of the board of arrive alive DRIVE SOBER. Our charity worked with Dr. Bob Mann in the impaired driving issue for many decades. His research was well-respected as were his values and commitment. Dr. Mann's research formed the basis for many legislative and political changes concerning impaired driving, student/youth behaviours, and cannabis legislation. A true pioneer and leader in the fight against driving while impaired. His love of family was obvious to all who knew him. Deepest condolences.
The Board of Directors for arrive alive DRIVE SOBER.

Yes, it is a punch in the gut to hear of Bob's death! I worked as a graduate student and then as a scientist just down the hall from Bob for 12 1/2 years. He was a kind and open man, quite generous with his time and attention. It's hard to understand that he is not with us anymore.... Quite a shock!
My deepest condolences to Bob's family and loved ones!

My deepest condolences to Bob's loved ones.
I worked with Bob on a number of research papers at CAMH, as well as the implementation of the Back on Track program. Early in my career, he always encouraged me to present at conferences and somehow he made me feel completely at ease in what felt like utterly daunting situations.
He was always so generous with his time, kind with his words and humble in his many and far-reaching accomplishments. Grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him.
Peace, love and strength to his loved ones and to those whose lives he touched.

My heartfelt condolences to Bob´s family, friends and colleagues. I am grateful to have had the good fortune of working with this gracious, kind and brilliant man as part of the Seniors Gambling Research Study and other projects over the years. While my contact with Bob was sporadic it was always positive, meaningful and appreciated. His impact as a scientist and human being are far reaching. People like Bob truly make this world a better place.

Bob and I we´re friends in high school...On several occasions I would spend weekends at his house in Burwash...a village that was filled with so many great people...and Bob was at the top of the list...I´m so sorry to hear of his passing...I remember Bob with a smile on his face...If he was ever in a bad mood...I never saw it...He was a good man who´s gone far too soon...Even though we only spent a few years together...I´m thankful for your friendship...My condolences to friends and family...RIP Bob...

First and foremost, my heartfelt sympathies to the Mann family. I came to know Bob in the 80's & 90's when CAMH was ARF and I was with the Attorney General's Drinking & Driving Countermeasures Office. We were researching impaired driving by young people, hard core drinking drivers, differences between male and female drivers and the list goes on. Essentially, we wanted to know who were worst and how can we stop them. Bob gained my total respect from the first time I met him. A smart, soft spoken man whose intentions and agenda were always clear and could be trusted. Highly ethical and always seeking to achieve the best possible outcomes from the data. His voice of reason resonated with all who came into contact with him. He was an important player in the country´s efforts to stop driving while impaired. It is so sad to learn of his passing.

Gone too soon!
I've known Dr. Mann for over 20 years as he was the backbone of Back on Track at CAMH!
He was a truly kind and gentle man whose dedication and commitment to his craft never went unnoticed. True brilliance wrapped in a humble package.
My deapest condolences from all our team to his family who we talked about all the time. So devoted and loving. We even had the pleasure of meeting "his" cat through our WEBEX chats.
Bob will be missed by our team especially so very much for his sense of humor, his abundant knowledge and his diplomacy! I told Bob many times he was never allowed to retire but I forgot to say he was never allowed to leave us permantly in any form. May he rest in peace. I look forward to seeing him again someday in the stardust beyond!

My cousin Bob, who grew into more than could be imagined, who showed everyone what it means to be a good man, giving in all directions, his heart, his knowledge, his smile, his humour, but mostly his caring, for family first, then the world.
I will miss knowing he's around
