Robert Blair Minnes, died on August 12, 2025, at the tender age of 92. Affectionately known as Papi, Bob, and Whippy Blue Steel, Robert always saw the best in people and made an effort to build community and friendships throughout his life. Robert made his family a priority along with his dogs, knife making, and the occasional scoop of ice cream. He was a man whose inner strength was an integral part of our family and whose actions spoke louder than words. As well as his career as a land developer, Robert had considerable time for the love of gardening - especially onions and garlic, conservation programs, and of course, chopping firewood. A twinkle in his eye always appeared when feeding the dogs under the table, sneaking chocolate, warming up sleeping rocks for his grandchildren, which were always accompanied by a story, or holding "out" the caught fish to make it appear bigger than it really was! His love of nature was woven throughout his daily life, always finding time to walk the dogs, hike in the mountains, fish, or a simple walk in the woods. His great pride was his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann; his children, Victoria and her husband, John, Michael and his wife, Jennifer, and Willa. His beloved grandchildren are Madeline, Robert, Alexander, Olivia, Eva, and Willa-Marie. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Paloschi and her family; sisters-in-law, Sandra Macgillivray and Martha Fruchet and their families. We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Evergreen House who supported and cared for Robert and our family along this journey. A Remembrance Gathering will be held in West Vancouver on October 18th. Please RSVP to
