Robert Thomas Moenck died peacefully, at Campbell House, Collingwood, on October 25, 2025. He was born in Montreal on June 24, 1948, the only child of Dorothy Coates and Georges Croisiau. Bob had an intercontinental childhood, between Europe and Canada as a young boy. He was adopted by Dorothy's second husband, Peter Moenck. They returned to Germany and Bob attended school in Germany and England. After completing his undergraduate degree at University of Sussex, he returned to Toronto for graduate study and finished his PhD in Computer Science in 1973. Bob was a mathematician teaching at University of Toronto and University of Waterloo before turning to the corporate world. He was a sailor, hiker, skier, curler, choir member, lifelong learner - Spanish, piano, ukulele, woodworking and carving, novice vintner, community gardener. Bob was the beloved husband to Mary Jane McIntyre; and the devoted and adoring father to Nathaniel (Cate) and Ali (Vahid), who will miss him dearly. He was the "Only First Cousin" to Bruce Coates (Adele), Jan Coates (Harald) and David Coates (Kaoru). He loved and was loved dearly by his late uncle and aunt, Don and Dona Coates. A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Bear Estate, 300 Balsam Street, Collingwood.
