ROBERT WHALEN Obituary
(November 3, 1939 - March 15, 2026) Industrial designer, husband, father, grandfather, and above all else, inspiration. Survived by the love of his life, Martie; loving daughter, Amanda; son-in-law, John; and loving granddaughters, Jane and Emma. Predeceased by his mother, Laura (Rossignol); father, Cecil Whalen; and brother, Gordon. Survived by his brother, Lawrence (Florence). He met Martie at OCA, and together they shared a life of love and travel spanning 61 years of marriage. From spontaneous trips to New York to see The Gates to long walks on their beach in Boca Grande, they were a partnership, together they made a whole. Highly creative and methodical, Bob designed award-winning furniture and built the family cottage on Bob's Lake himself, which he enjoyed with his dear friends, Alfred and Patsy Pick and family. Good-humoured, unflappable, a true gentleman, he lived by the mantra you could do anything you put your mind to and cut his own path. Bob lived and loved fully and deeply.
