ROBIN HARDY Obituary

May 14, 1950-April 17, 2025 Robin died unexpectedly of a heart attack, after a long struggle with physical challenges, starting in 2000. She was the daughter of Patrick Arthur Hardy and Helen McArthur Hardy. She leaves her sister, Susan Hardy Butler; her nephews - the Butler boys - Patrick Hardy, Andrew McArthur, Nicholas Robin; her grandnephew, Soren Patrick; and close friends, especially Kay Vogel, Naomi Duguid, Karen Jaffe, "Aunt" Liz Butler and countless friends on Facebook. Robin graduated from The Bishop Strachan School, Queen's University (History) and Ryerson University (Journalism). Her happiest working days were spent at TVO with her good friend, Ruth Batty. Robin was a world traveller, a history/politics buff and a movie aficionado. She was looking forward to attending the official release of Nick's first feature film at the beginning of June. Rest in peace, Robin. You will be missed.

Robin was our neighbor from 2015. We have some nice memories of her.
She would not accept payment for out of town university students using her parking spot while staying in our apartment. One year while we were in Mexico she did accept payment from our brother but only to pass it on to her charity.
Robin did let us know she would ask us for help if needed. Changing a ceiling light bulb was the most she did ask.
The loss of Robin hurts. We knew her to be a good person with strong social justice values.

Robin was my classmate at BSS. She was bright, witty and utterly entertaining. Robin was skilled at playing Charades, bridge as well as sports on the playing field. She was terrific. My sympathies to her family and friends.
