Roger Fredrick Mallyon
January 16, 1934 - June 7, 2012
Husband. Father. Grandpa. Friend. Sports Media Exec. Storyteller. Trivia Champ. Captain Lucky. Ketchup Connoisseur. Born in Toronto, Roger was a man of intelligence and integrity. He led a full and active life with interests that ranged from basketball, hiking, canoeing and golf to cards, country drives and spending time with his family. He enjoyed summers at Loon Call, visits to Oke Nape and weekly gatherings of the North Parkdale Sporting Club. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Lizzie (McPherson) Mallyon and his siblings Jean LaSalle and Gord Wylie, Roger was loving husband of Margaret (McColl), father of Julia and Liza (Gary), 'Pa' of Kyle and Claire, uncle to Ken (Jennifer) and Alex (Bettyanne), great-uncle to Brandy and Josh, and dear friend to many. Profound thanks to the staff and volunteers at Southlake Residential Care Village for excellent care, kindness and guidance. The family will receive friends at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. South, Newmarket from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday June 14th.
