RONALD CRAIG THOMPSON, F.C.A. Suddenly, on July 17, 2011, at his beloved cottage at Lac La Blanche, Quebec. Dear husband of Jane Billings, adored stepfather of Robin (John Brent) and Alison Booth, grandfather to Liam and Owen. Born in Ottawa on March 29, 1943 to Frederick Thompson and Marguerite Flora (both deceased), Ron identified himself humorously but proudly as a chartered accountant. He spent most of his career at the Office of the Auditor General from where he retired in 2008 as Assistant Auditor General and Interim Commissioner of the Environment. In retirement, he gave generously of his time as Chairman of the Canadian Comprehensive Audit Foundation, and as Treasurer of both St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church and the Rideau Club. Ron loved life, desserts, his cottage, all things related to race cars, Bequia and Seabourn cruises. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) Friday July 22nd from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Church of St. Bartholomew, 125 MacKay Street, Ottawa, Saturday, July 23rd at 11 a.m. Flowers from family members only please.
