ROY SAUNDERS COLLINS


Passed away peacefully at Ian Anderson House, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Pauline Collins and loving father of Laurie and his wife Anne of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Valerie and her husband Douglas Bickley of Kamloops, British Columbia. Proud grandfather of Elizabeth, Michael and Hanley Collins. Survived by brother-in-law Stuart, and EJ Wright. A proud RCAF veteran, Roy returned to Canada after WWII and enjoyed a long career with Alcan. In retirement, he remained a very active member of First United Church in Mississauga. Throughout his life he pursued his love of music, writing and gardening. The family would particularly like to thank Susan and Eric Eggleton for their friendship and support throughout Roy's lengthy illness. Appreciation also to the staff at the Regency Retirement Residence, and to Roy's doctors and medical providers for their compassion and care. Funeral Service will be held at First United Church, 151 Lakeshore Rd. W., Mississauga, on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin one hour before the service.
