Roy William WOOD

Roy WOOD Obituary

WOOD, Roy William
Peacefully, at home in Toronto, on Saturday, March 7th, 1998, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Anne Marjorie Beer (1974). Loving father of Anne Tough of Toronto (Ted), John Wood of Vancouver (Merry), Margaret Schatzky of Ottawa (Tom), and Eleanor Faulkner of Guelph. He will be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren: Susan and Paul Tough; Kate, Peter and Hilary Wood; Michael, Jonathan and ReBecca Schatzky; and Christopher, Julia and Sean Faulkner. Fondly remembered by his brother Wilfred, and his sisters Eleanor (Pete) Wood, and Grace Fessenden, and many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Victoria College (1931), former teacher at Malvern Collegiate for many years, longtime member of Metropolitan United Church and choir, and for fifty years a devoted member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. At his request, his body has been donated to the University of Toronto for medical research. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Scott Mission or The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
