Russ BOYKO Obituary

RUSS BOYKO Russ (Rosal) Boyko passed away on June 16, 2023, at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, following a brief battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ann (née Farrell); son, Andrew; and daughter, Kieran. He is survived by sisters, Mabeline Akai (Bob) and Rose Boyko; brother, Boris Boyko; and nieces, Tracy Edgely (Cameron, Jessica) and Aimee (Keanna, Eli). He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Tom and Rob. He was predeceased by niece, Tamara Morrissey; and his parents, William Boyko and Maryiam Boyko (née Toodick). On-Air, he was known as 'Russ McCloud.' A popular radio host, his radio career spanned four decades from west to east: CKPG in Prince George in the early '70s; CKOV in Kelowna in the mid '70s; 1014 CFUN in Vancouver from 1976 to 1984; 1050 CHUM in Toronto from 1984 to 2001; and 940 CINW AM in Montreal from 2008-2010. He loved music, was gregarious, fun-loving, energetic and caring.

Dear Ann and family. We are so sorry to read of Russ's passing. It's been years since we saw Russ, you and the kids here in Prince George. We have many fond memories from school days to your wedding and in between. We send our deepest condolences and wish you all Peace and Love.
