Russ was a visionary leader. I met him in 1989 when he hired me to work at the Pearson Adult Learning Centre. I will always remember him as a person with a vision. Russ could predict future learning needs of the community he worked in and was focussed on making his ideas work. Many of the programs initiated by him are still going strong. Russ was a very inclusive leader and extremely kind. I remember how he listened, processed and then responded. He will be greatly missed, but his legacies and memories are with us.
Sincere condolences, Lucille.
Rest in peace, Russ.

Lucille,
We are so sad to see that Russ passed away. Hard to believe. Such fond and happy memories. He was an amazing person that led a remarkable life. Our thoughts are with with you during this difficult time

Russ was an eternal optimist and a builder. He built programs, and he built people up in his quest to make the world a better place. He gave everyone he touched a chance to be better and greater. He will be missed, but I can imagine him now building and inspiring others in heaven.

To say that Russ Pacey had a positive influence on the course of my life and career at School District 40 would be an understatement. He was hired just as I began working there and had an immediate effect on the district and its programs. Through his confidence in my abilities, I was hired to work in the International Education program for adults in 1988. It was a fantastic opportunity that lead to a memorable trip to Asia in the 90s in support of students studying in New Westminster. Around then, I became a father and Russ was very supportive when I began to work part time. He also enabled my move to the Pearson Adult Learning Centre when the IE program ended, where I spent many happy years working with a team of dedicated teachers of adults. I am sad to hear he's gone and send my sincere condolences to Lucille and his family.
